Sign Fabrication in Birmingham, AL

Reliable Sign Services fabricates custom signs in our own UL-listed shop in McCalla, AL, serving businesses, churches, and schools across the Birmingham metro. We do not resell signs made elsewhere. Our craftsmen build letters, cabinets, and sign components in-house using computer-controlled cutting and letter-forming equipment, then our own crews install them.

Keeping fabrication in-house since 1994 gives us direct control over quality, materials, and schedule. When a question comes up on the shop floor, the designer, the fabricator, and the installer are in the same building.

From Approved Design to Finished Sign

Fabrication starts once your sign design is approved. The approved drawing becomes the shop drawing our team builds from.

  1. Cutting. Letters and sign faces are cut on our precision computer-controlled cutting router for clean, consistent edges.
  2. Forming. Our fabricators shape channel letters and sign components using precision letter-forming equipment.
  3. Assembly and wiring. Illuminated signs are assembled with Underwriters Laboratories (UL) listed parts and assemblies.
  4. Finishing. Paint and vinyl colors are matched to Pantone, Avery, or Benjamin Moore standards.
  5. Graphics. We also produce labels and banner graphics in-house.

A UL-Listed Sign Shop

Reliable is a UL-listed facility. Every illuminated sign we fabricate meets the standards set by Underwriters Laboratories, and our shop is subject to unscheduled inspections by UL representatives to keep that standing. For you, that means electrical components that meet recognized safety standards and a sign that inspectors expect to see.

Do you build signs in-house or outsource them?

We fabricate in our own shop in McCalla, AL, using computer-controlled cutting and letter-forming equipment.

Yes. We use UL-listed parts and assemblies, and as a UL-listed facility our shop is subject to unscheduled UL inspections.

Can you match my brand colors exactly?

We match to Pantone, Avery, and Benjamin Moore standards and keep calibrated color charts in our office so you can approve physical samples.

How long does fabrication take?

Do you also install the signs you build?

Yes. Our own crews handle sign installation with our aerial lift trucks.
